Американцы из компании «Nielsen SoundScan» пришли к выводу, что в 2009 г. продали около 2 млн. пластиков в США.
Раритетные пластинки не смогут потеснить современные форматы. Скорее всего, вымрут компакт-диски, а музыку будут записывать, и покупать в «облаках», храня их в цифровой библиотеке на удаленном сервере. За доступ к «облакам» будут брать умеренную плату, а вот с винилом не случится никогда, так как у него самое высокое качество звука.
Некоторые специалисты говорят, что сейчас вновь покупают виниловые проигрыватели. Некоторые уже заделались коллекционерами, желающими приобрести нечто оригинальное, а не переизданное. Пока будут наблюдать такие тенденции, винил не исчезнет, будут покупать его про запас, а на какие альбомы уже держится исключительно высокая цена?

В 1958 г. была выпущена эта раритетная пластинка. Группа The Beatles любима, а поэтому ее пластинки коллекционируют больше других. Группа из Ливерпуля – The Quarrymen – это коллектив, в который входили школьные приятели, собранные Д. Ленноном. Потом она уже превратилась в The Beatles. Запись первой пластинки состоялась 14.06.1958 г. Ее записали в домашней студии у П. Филлипса. За ее записывание с юношей взяли семнадцать шиллингов и шесть пенсов. Музыканты импровизировали, а после получили один единственный альбом. В течение недели владел им брат К. Хантона, потом он перешел к Д. Лоуву, который держал его у себя в течение более двадцати пяти лет, а в 1981 г. он попал на аукцион, но до него был продан Маккартни. Новый владелец отпечатал пятьдесят копий, раздарив их родственникам, друзьям. А еще спустя некое время этот альбом перестал быть миражом.
John Lennon – Double Fantasy
Д. Леннон подписал этот альбом одному из поклонников. Это произошло 8.12.1980 г. 5 часов спустя этот поклонник держал его в руках, а потом отправился к гостинице Dakota и застрелил Д. Леннона. Его подобрал другой человек. Он превратился в улику, которая доказывала вину М. Д. Чепмена, так как на конверте были отпечатки пальцев. Джентльмен получил альбом обратно сразу после того, как состоялся суд. В 1999 г. он выступил пластинку на продажу, и она ушла по цене в 150 тыс. долларов.
